Hosting Events at the Sigmund Freud Museum

The Sigmund Freud Museum offers three spaces of varying dimensions for your event. Make use of this unusual opportunity and give your guests a chance to experience the unique atmosphere of the historical site where Sigmund Freud lived and worked.

The Spaces

With ca. 110 m2, the spacious Lounge on the ground floor at Berggasse 19 is suited for gatherings of up to 120 persons. With its large window front (the space can also be darkened) and its reduced modern design, it is perfect for events of all sorts. There is an adjoining catering area that can also be used as a cloakroom.

Event Hall

The museum’s Event Hall was created by combining three rooms of the Freud family’s former apartment – the living room, the dining room and the parlor of Minna Bernays, Sigmund Freud’s sister-in-law. With modern technical equipment (sound system, microphone) and a mobile dividing wall (total floor space 80 m2), the Hall is a practical location for conferences, discussions or celebrations in the historic atmosphere of the Freud apartment.

The Library reading room is particularly suited for small-scale events such as seminars, workshops and presentations. Located in Freud’s private apartment and modernly furnishings, it provides an ideal setting for events with up to 20 participants.
